How to Get a More Consistent Golf Swing
Take Videos
Since everyone has a smartphone in their pocket, it couldn’t be easier to take quick videos of your swing. Reviewing video clips helps you notice what your body is doing when you swing, and how consistent (or inconsistent, as the case may be) it is. Make a habit of taking at least a couple of videos of your swing each time you go out on the course, then review them at the end of the day and note where you could make improvements.
Keep Your Arms Connected to Your Core
If your arms aren’t connected to your body, your swing is likely to be all over the place. Try holding a club-head cover or a glove between your body and underarm when you swing. You should be able to swing without dropping it. Practice this drill until it feels comfortable, and you should see some improved consistency in your swing.
Work on Your Balance
Many casual golfers, especially beginners, struggle with balance. If you do not have a strong, balanced foundation, you’re not going to be able to achieve a consistent golf swing. To improve your balance, try doing strengthening exercises, focusing especially on your core.
