TaylorMade recently announced that it has officially acquired Nassau Golf Co. Here’s what that means for the company, and for your favorite golf balls.
TaylorMade’s Growing Business
TaylorMade diehards need not worry that this new development could negatively affect their favorite golf balls—South Korea-based Nassau Golf Co. has been involved in the manufacture of TaylorMade’s golf balls for about 15 years now. The acquisition by TaylorMade simply makes Nassau Golf Co.’s involvement with TaylorMade official.
TaylorMade is one of the golf world’s favorite golf ball companies, so it is no surprise that the company is growing and becoming more global. The acquisition of Nassau Golf marks TaylorMade’s 3rd entity. Nassau Golf Co. will become TaylorMade Golf Ball Korea alongside the already established TaylorMade South Carolina and TaylorMade Golf Ball Taiwan.
TaylorMade’s CEO, David Abeles, said that “the acquisition further supports TM’s strategic plan to create vertical integration in the company’s golf ball supply chain. TM Golf Ball Korea now joins TM Golf Ball Taiwan and TM Golf Ball South Carolina to service the global demand requirements for our rapidly growing golf ball business.”
